When it comes to shopping, dining, and entertainment, Green Hills has it all.

The Bluebird Cafe is an iconic 90-seat listening room where singer-songwriters perform on a center stage.

Popular shopping spots include The Mall at Green Hills (an upscale indoor shopping mall), Trader Joes, Parnassus Books, Hill Center (walkable boutiques and restaurants), and much more!

There are many American-style bar and grills with outdoor seating. Plus a collection of one-of-a-kind restaurants including Noshville Delicatessen (famous breakfast & New York deli), True Food Kitchen (clean eating with vegan options), Union Common (hip steak house), Kalamatas (Mediterranean), Shalimar (Indian), and the Greek Cafe Grill.

The Green Hills Family YMCA features a fitness center, gymnasium, indoor track, indoor pool, heated outdoor pool, saunas, steam rooms, and classes for all ages and interests.

PARKS

Need green spaces? Green Hills is near four fabulous parks.

Edwin and Percy Warner Park (3,100 acres) has a Nature Center, picnic shelters, a dog park, scenic roadways and overlooks, hiking trails, mountain bike trails, historic sites, an equestrian center and horse trails, cross country running courses, and athletic fields. It is also home to Percy Warner Golf Course (9 holes) Harpeth Hills Golf Course (18 holes), Cheekwood Estate, and the Iroquois Steeplechase.

Radnor Lake State Park (1,368 acres) is a protected natural area with over six miles of trails. It’s perfect for hikers, photographers, and wildlife observers. Ranger-led programs include canoe floats, wildflower walks, astronomy night hikes, nature hikes, and programs about local animals.

Centennial Park (132 acres) in downtown Nashville features the iconic Parthenon. The park also has a one-mile walking trail around Lake Watauga, the Centennial Art Center, historical monuments, a sunken garden, a band shell and events shelter, sand volleyball courts, a dog park, and an exercise trail. Many festivals and events are held here including Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival, Dog Day Festival, and Shakespeare in the Park.

McCabe Park, in the Sylvan Park neighborhood, is home to the historic McCabe Golf Course (27 holes) and the Richland Creek Greenway. The greenway features a scenic multiuse paved trail, outdoor gym and bike rentals.

SCHOOLS

Your children will love top-rated Julia Green Elementary School. Students thrive academically and enjoy close-knit classrooms.

Private school options are many and include Lipscomb Academy, Ensworth, Montgomery Bell Academy, St. Cecilia Academy, Harpeth Hall, Harding Academy, St. Paul Christian Academy, Christ Presbyterian Academy, and The Covenant School.

With Lipscomb University in the neighborhood, and Belmont University and Vanderbilt University next door, your children can complete their entire education right here.

CHEEKWOOD ESTATE & NASHVILLE ZOO

Minutes from Green Hills is Cheekwood Estate and Gardens. Yearly memberships start as low as $55 and give you access to the 55-acre botanical garden, historic estate, featured art galleries (indoor and outdoor), storybook playhouses, train exhibit, and seasonal festivals. Their calendar of events is sure to impress every member of your family.

Also nearby is the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Their Jungle Gym is the largest community playground in the United States. It features a 35-foot tall treehouse, slides, swings, tunnels, and a padded toddler area. There are far too many exhibits to mention, but a favorite is the Kangaroo Kickabout where you can walk inside the enclosure and pet one.

Green Hills real estate is diverse. From older single-family homes, townhomes, and condos to new-builds and estates, there's something for everyone.

Condos sell under 200,000. Townhomes have a median sale price of 270,000. Single-family houses have a median sale price of 750,000, but this reflects large estates, so don't shy away if your budget is smaller. You can find many houses in the 400,000-500,000 range.
