SHOPPING | ENTERTAINMENT

You'll love strolling down America's Favorite Main Street. In downtown Franklin, you can visit local boutiques and restaurants, enjoy a show at the Franklin Theatre, or take a historic walking tour. End your evening with ice cream at Kilwins, and you're sure to please every member of your family.

Main Street hosts several festivals throughout the year, including Pumpkinfest, Brew Fest, Dickens of a Christmas, and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting—at 40 feet tall, it takes the town four days to piece together.

Franklin is also home to Cool Springs, a large commercial center surrounding the Cool Springs Galleria mall. Here you'll find retail stores, luxury hotels, local and national businesses, and over 200 restaurants.

PARKS

Pinkerton Park (34 acres) is the perfect place for your family gatherings. Host a party under a pavilion while your kids explore Tinkerbell playground. Hike up to Fort Granger. Or walk across the pedestrian bridge into the heart of downtown Franklin.

Your fur baby will love the dog park at Harlinsdale Farm (60 acres). And don't forget to buy tickets to the famous Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival!

Jim Warren Park (58 acres) is all about the sports. The park includes eight tennis courts, 12 baseball fields, four football fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, and a catch and release fish pond. It's also home to the Skate Plaza, which features a 16 ft bowl.

Need to get away from the office? Aspen Grove Park (14 acres), located in the heart of Cool Springs, is the best spot for a lunch break. In the spring, fields of yellow tulips surround the eight-mile walking path.

RECREATION CENTER

The Franklin Recreation Complex offers a fitness center, pool, gymnasium, racket ball courts, childcare, and classes for all ages and interests.

But their claim to fame is the outdoor pool—complete with waterslides and a brand new splash pad. And don't miss the shady walking trail located behind the building. It connects to the Harpeth River and Bicentennial Park.

HISTORY

Love history? Franklin is your place.

The Battle of Franklin, considered one of the greatest and deadliest battles of the Civil War, was almost forgotten. But the city saved and reclaimed over 200 acres of the battlefield, which includes three beautiful houses to tour: the Carnton Plantation, the Carter House, and the Lotz House.

Take a historic walking or segway tour with Franklin on Foot (evening ghost hunts also available). And check out the many educational programs offered by The Battle of Franklin Trust.
